We have not bought the chub in years and have been purchasing the pre-sliced for convenience. Over the holidays we decided to get the chub in order to cut thicker slices. Unfortunately that was a mistake. And the overall taste and quality of the cub has changed a lot. It seems that they are not curing the Salami as long as they did in the past and we noticed a real lack of flavor and a softer texture. The chub no longer has the wax paper rind that you peel off and yes it obviously made a difference. We will no longer purchase Gallo Salami in the chub. Weirdly enough, the pre-sliced has a better taste to us.
